Travel Diary- Langkawi, Malaysia

May 10, 2016

Hey Lovelies as mentioned in one of my previous posts My Spring Accessories Wish List for 2016 I had recently spent a relaxing weekend on the Island of Langkawi which is a small Island off the mainland coast of Malaysia. It was kind of a last minute decision to go as Malaysian Airlines had some bargain deals going on and on top of that we managed to find a reasonably priced hotel so in the end we thought f**k it lets go!

We were really looking into having a chilled out weekend hence not getting in to all the activities they have on the Island. It was more about lying by the pool, going for walks along the beach and eating good food. I am not sure how useful any of this will be if you are planning to visit Langkawi but I'm hoping you will see at least one thing that may spark some interest.

I decided to do this post in a Photo Diary style of our weekend trip to Langkawi and will leave all links to the places we visited at the end of the post. Enjoy!

It took roughly 45min flight time from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi.
As soon as we landed in Langkawi airport we jumped in to a cab and went straight to the hotel. Langkawi is a small island and most of the hotels and resorts tend to be situated in and around the main town Pantai Cenang so it didn't take us long at all to get to our Hotel from the airport.

As you can see by the photo's above we did not want to waste a minute of our day, practically chucked the suitcases in our room and were quick to get out and explore the resort.
The beach was a 2 min walk from our hotel and the swimming pool was facing our room which made life even more lazier.

La Villa Pool Club & Restaurant
They had a private pool area located on the resort which you can enter for a small price. We ended up coming here 2 days in row for the infinity pool with this amazing view of the sea.

fatCUPID restaurant is a minimalist style restaurant with a mix of European and Asian cuisine. We ate here on our first night and thought the food was great, friendly service, nice ambiance and the price wasn't bad either.

One thing I will point out in general we found eating out in Langkowi relatively cheaper compared to Kuala Lumpur.

My Coffee spot Abah Kaw:)
I have no idea the name of this place....just saw the bright green paddy field from the main road and had to check it out.

Our curiosity got the best of us and we had to test this place out......The English Tea Room. It was strange sitting inside there because it reminded me so much of an English Cafe in the UK.
Its hard to rate this place as we only ordered toasties....although saying that they were tasty.

Watching the Sunset at Casa Del Mar
Ignore the Resting Bitchy Face;)and just appreciate the colour of that sky!

If you are wondering what spots are good for watching the sunset I would highly recommend Casa Del Mar.
The food, the view, the service is Top star!!
